TRUST or BUST? Football Myths...
In 2006/2007 I thought, thinking of all the garbage media shoves our way:
"The media will have a hey-day with the Chargers if they win the Super Bowl -- all sorts of predictions will be made as they have the same team locked up for the next two years.
If the Patriots win, the media's generally accepted PLAYOFF EXPERIENCE argument will live on strong.
If the Ravens win, DEFENSE wins championships will be all the talk.
If the Colts win, the media might have to remind people about teams like San Francisco and St. Louis, who won with potent offense.
If anybody else wins, I'll be damned. They'll have to make up a new one for the Bears if Rex wins while throwing 5 picks. The Saints? They are much like St. Loius' winning teams. Eagles or Seattle? They start the argument back up that top seed means nothing in the Post Season."
TRUST or BUST 1: I personally believe that regular season play is the best indicator for who will win in the playoffs. But you often hear "Playoff Experience Matters." Is this statement founded, or just a myth?
TRUST or BUST 2: "Defense Wins Championships!"
TRUST or BUST 3: Some players are simply Post Season Champions, like Tom Brady. Does he actually step it up a notch in the playoffs?
TRUST or BUST 4: Can you use Strength of Schedule as an idicator of your team's superiority?
TRUST or BUST 5: Does L.T. overperform against week defenses, and underperform against good ones?
